APRIL
Dear philoptochos Members,
Χριστός ανέστη! The rebirth of nature all around us feeds the hope and promise that Pascha has stirred in us. There is joy to be found by looking out the window to find the budding trees, and in welcoming the crocus flowers once they’ve made their journey through the soil to the warm pull of the sun. Something pulls at us in the spring, as well. For me, it’s the knowledge that people united in common values and beliefs can dedicate themselves to something greater than what one soul can do alone. We are blessed to be in a community where every talent we have can be applied for the greater good. We are valued for the skills we harbor, and the time and care we contribute. We make our journey up from the moist soil of what is comfortable and cool into the warmth of other people, familiar voices, new ideas, and the work at hand.

Philoptochos members are the backbone of many endeavors at the festival, however, the proceeds from the Wine & Cheese Booth located in the lobby, fuel many of the philanthropic needs we support with the revenue generated in June. We need volunteers to staff our booth. Please call Mitsi Andrews at 408.439.4496, if you are able to commit to a 4 hour shift anytime from 11AM-9PM on June 5 or 6, or from 11AM-6:00PM on Sunday.
Volunteers are also needed to assist in the Pastry Shop, the sweetest job in town. Please call Mary Naylor at 303.807.2070.
The Taste of Greece Booth needs help making salads on Wednesday, June 3rd, and help throughout the weekend. Call Marianne Anton at 303.388.9314.
Membership renewal
It’s time to renew our annual Philoptochos memberships. Our membership dues are the foundation of our budget and they are critical to the good works we are able to provide our community. Please come by the table on Sunday and renew or go online to denverphiloptochos.com and make sure you are on our 2026 membership roster. $25 of each membership is automatically designated for the National and Metropolis Philoptochos endeavors. Our chapter keeps anything above $25 for our budget here. We welcome whatever you can afford. Thank you for your loyalty and support!
